Liz Canis is an executive advisor at Foresite Capital Management. She sources opportunities, oversees diligence for prospective investments, monitors portfolio assets, and supports internal incubation opportunities.
An experienced senior executive and board director, Liz brings a unique combination of strategic leadership, financial discipline, and operational experience. Previously, Liz was vice president of emerging business & partnerships at Elevance Health, the second largest national payer with $150B annual revenue. In this role she led innovation and commercialization of new assets to differentiate Elevance and diversify sources of future growth.
Prior to Elevance, Liz served as ventures lead at Savvysherpa, a healthcare venture capital/innovation firm. She also was founder and CEO of The Pivot Group, leading a team of recognized experts offering consulting and advisory services to venture capital, private equity, and healthcare organizations.
Liz spent eleven years at UnitedHealth Group in a variety of leadership roles where she developed a keen understanding of behavioral economics, consumer engagement and risk management.
Liz has a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University and a Master’s in Business Administration With Distinction from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
