Stephen C. Peterson, CFA

Managing Director
Stephen Peterson is a Managing Director at Foresite Capital, where he is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities in the healthcare technology and services sector.
Stephen joined Foresite Capital in 2011 as the second member of the firm’s investment team, partnering with founder Jim Tananbaum to help build the platform. He currently serves on Foresite’s Investment Committee and Valuation Committee, and is a board director or observer at Sollis Health, Thyme Care, Signant Health, and ConnectiveRx.
Prior to joining Foresite Capital, Stephen was an equity analyst at Palo Alto Investors, a fundamental long/short hedge fund focused on small- and micro-cap growth companies. He began his investment career as an analyst at Wells Fargo.
In addition to his work at Foresite, Stephen is a Co-Founder of Yuwa, an India-based nonprofit organization. He has served as a guest lecturer on investment analysis and financial modeling at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business, the University of San Francisco, and San Francisco State University.
Stephen is a CFA Charterholder and a member of both the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Colorado. He holds a B.S.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from the University of Denver.
