Stephen Peterson is a Partner at Foresite Capital responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities.

Stephen joined Jim Tananbaum in 2011 as the second member of Foresite Capital’s investment team.  In addition to his investment responsibilities, Stephen has overseen the development of Foresite Capital’s investment analyst group and the establishment of Foresite’s initial proprietary investment systems.  He currently serves as a member of Foresite’s Investment Committee and Valuation Committee, and is a Board Observer at Thyme Care, Signant Health and ConnectiveRx.

Prior to joining Foresite Capital, Stephen spent four years as an equity analyst for Palo Alto Investors, a fundamental, long/short equity hedge fund focused on small and micro-cap growth stocks. Stephen began his investment career as an analyst with Wells Fargo.

In addition to his work with Foresite Capital, Stephen is a Co-Founder and Board Member of Yuwa, an India-based non-profit organization. He has served as a guest lecturer on investment analysis and financial modeling at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business, University of San Francisco and San Francisco State University. Stephen is a CFA Charterholder. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Colorado. Stephen graduated from the University of Denver with a B.S.B.A. in finance and accounting.
